Nancy O'Dell's initial work in the industry of broadcast was as a reporter/anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Later, she worked at WCBD as a morning anchor and crime reporter. O'Dell's reports in Charleston concerning the lack of leniency by police when it comes to DUI cases prompted a State Law Enforcement Division to look into the matter. It led to state authorities issuing more strict regulations in these cases. In the year 2000, The Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell with the Best Report of the Years award in the entirety of South Carolina Media. In the years following her stint in Charleston O'Dell worked as a co-anchor and investigative reporter for NBC's Miami station WTVJ-TV prior to joining Access Hollywood as a weekend co-anchor and weekday correspondent.
